NASCAR 2012 Race 11 Darlington

JIMMIE WINS!!!  Number 200 for Hendrick Motorsports!!

The race was incredibly boring until about lap 312.  Lots and lots and lots and lots of green flag laps.  1 Caution for someone blowing up around lap 172.  Then more green flag laps.  A real snooze-fest!

Suddenly, around lap 312 the drivers seem to wake up and realize the end was nigh and it was time to actually do the job they’re paid to do and RACE!

So the rest of the race was good. There were battles and action and a Green-White-Checkered finish.

And let’s hear it for the explosive Kurt Busch. What is this guy thinking???  He and Newman go spinning on lap 361.  What started out a racing deal soon turned into a inter-team brawl!  Kurt apparently needed to release some frustration and decided to do a burnout from his pit box after repairs and through Newman’s pit box where his crew was cleaning up after Newman’s repairs.   Unsurprisingly the endangered 39 team members were irate at being put into a potentially life-threatening situation.  Rueger, gas man for the 39 crew, made his feelings known to the crew chief for the 51.  Kurt’s team informed him, over the radio, that the 39 team members wanted to whoop his ass and explained why to the profanely shouting Busch.  Busch then returned to pit road and managed to hit the 39 car after the race.  Rueger was beside himself and headed over to the 51 car to relay his displeasure to Kurt.  Crew members of both teams then spent time blocking for Kurt and Rueger.  In the melee a NASCAR official tumbled onto the hood of a car.  Eventually the warring factions were separated and called to the NASCAR hauler.  Everyone is breathlessly awaiting NASCAR’s ruling on this incident.
