2023 NASCAR Cup Series Race Eleven Dover

Cars in field: 36
Pole: Kyle Busch (8)
Outside pole: Christopher Bell (20)
Stages: 120-130-150
Competition caution scheduled for lap 20
Weather: Cloudy, 61 degrees, feels like 58, 9 mph wind with 17 mph gustsStage 1 – four cautions – I missed the stage.

Stage 2 – all green – 122 laps – boring.

Even PRN’s Doug Rice said, “when we race on Monday we get a different kind of race. It’s like everybody is ready to get home”. He said it might pick up when we get within 75 laps. So of a 400 lap race he’s saying 325 of the 400 laps are boring. I believe he’s being generous with when they’re going to pickup the pace and actually begin to race. I don’t expect them to begin racing until 30 laps to go.

On lap 365 of 400 the PRN guys are a bit excited at the possibility of the second place guy catching up to the leader. The lead changed on the last green flag pit cycle.

Caution on lap 387 of 400 for Joey Logano (22) losing a tire and hitting the wall. Logano’s car caught fire.

Restarting on lap 394 of 400 with Martin ‘MTJ’ Truex Jr (19) and Ryan Blaney (12) on the front row.

Blaney gets the early lead on the restart, then Truex re-takes the lead.

Martin ‘MTJ’ Truex Jr (19) takes the white flag.

Martin ‘MTJ’ Truex Jr (19) wins! He finishes 0.505
seconds ahead of second place. PRN says it has been 597 days since MTJ had a win. I believe he won in the pre-season events earlier this year, so maybe it’s been that long since he had a points paying win.

Congratulations to the Truex brothers on their home track with Ryan winning the Xfinity series race on Saturday and big brother Martin winning today. It took Ryan Truex 9 years and 89 races to finally win one in the Xfinity series.

MTJ literally burned the tires to the ground. He got out of the car when the body was sitting on the ground and the tires would no longer move.

FoxSports’ Regan Smith said the whole Truex family has been [here](Dover) all week long.

Boring, boring, boring, boring, boring. A typical Monday race – lets log laps as quickly as possible so we can get home.
