It’s a beautiful day here in Atlanta and in Daytona. Â The snow/ice is melting nicely here and not as cold in Daytona. Â The setup for the race was exciting. Â Carl said he spoke to Kate and she said she doesn’t feel like she’s going to have the baby today. Â He’s got Mike Wallace on standby, just in case.

Tim McGraw opened the show. Â He looked like Hank Williams Jr. Â I find that worrisome. Â And his performance was lackluster in my opinion.
The field looked good and everybody seemed excited. Â The race was rather slow compared to the Nationwide and Truck races. Â Keselowski brought out the first caution and took out two with him. Â Makes me wonder if Denny is tee-hee-heeing and saying, “See. I told you he’s not any good.” Â The race continued with some lead changes and a lot of riding around. Â Then John Andretti blew a tire and hit the wall. Â Jimmie then went into the pits with a flat tire. Â There were 78 laps to go. Â Jimmie
couldn’t figure out what happened to the tire.  Then NASCAR officials went to inspect a pothole on the track.  There was a 1 hour and 40 minute red flag in an attempt to patch the hole.  The cars started rolling again and made 40 laps before the hole was back and Clint Bowyer’s splitter was busted by it.  NASCAR called a caution and they patched again.  Clint wasn’t worried about the splitter and it seems it didn’t hurt him too badly. Â
The end of the race was amazingly exciting. Â Jimmie stopped early after breaking something on the rear of the car. Â Jr came from 10th to 2nd in one lap on the second (or third) Green White Checker retry. Â Jamie Mc won the race and of course was a total tear-bag in victory lane.

The 2010 Daytona 500, potholes and all, is in the books.Â
Congratulations to Weepy Jamie McMurray. Â Between he and Biff, I was rooting for him. Â When Jr made his play, I was rooting against him, but I said during the week, he was a Jamie Mc on a mission and I had my eye on him. Â I would’ve preferred a victory by Kasey, but this one works. Â And no, though Jimmie is my driver, it never occurred to me that he would win this race – and I’m okay with that.
