2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Nine Dover

Daniel Hemric (21) and Christopher Bell (20) are leading the field to the green flag. Today is a play-off cut-off race. The stages are 45-45-110.

Christopher Bell quickly takes over the lead from Daniel Hemric.

Christopher Bell wins stage one.

Daniel Hemric (21) and Justin ‘Dewy Alligator’ Allgaier (7) will start out on the front row.

Dewy Alligator takes over the lead on the restart.

The grandstands are rather sparse. MRN mentioned the Cup practice was drizzled out, so maybe weather is keeping the fans away.

Daniel Hemric takes the lead on lap 75 of 200.

Daniel Hemric wins stage two.

Daniel Hemric gets a pit road speeding penalty and will have to start at the tail-end of the lead lap cars. So though he’s first out of the pits, he’ll start last.

Spencer Gallagher will lead the field to the green flag this time. Cole Custer (00) beside him.

Restarting on lap 95 of 200.

Caution on lap 163 of 200.

Brandon Jones (19) got two tires and off pit road first. Christopher Bell (20) will start alongside.

Restarting on lap 171 of 200.

Christopher Bell immediately takes the lead.

Caution on lap 178 of 200 due ot the 2 Matt getting loose after a bump from the 4 of Ross Chastain sending Tifft into the 60 car of Chase Briscoe causing him to slide into the wall .

Restarting on lap 183 of 200 with Christopher Bell and Cole Custer up front.

Christopher Bell takes the white flag with little competition from Cole Custer and wins seconds later.

Congrats to Justin Allgaier on his third place finish.

Same to Ryan Preece (18) and Spencer Gallagher (23) on their fourth and fifth place finish.

Christopher is the first rookie to win six races in one season.

I guess giving away the checkered flag is not the substitute for having a personality – or is it a monkey-see-monkey do behavior? Ryan Blaney is really cool and popular and he gives away the flag. I’ll give it away too.

Ross Chastain (4) is eliminated along with Ryan Reed (16), Ryan Truex (11) and Brandon Jones (19).

Daniel Hemric says they’ll get a week off and hopefully he will get his mental state in a better place, because his mistakes over the last two weeks has him in a bad place.
