The Xfinity series cut-off race scheduled for this afternoon is preparing to run tonight. Lots of rain in Charlotte today pushed race time back about five hours. PRN is saying the weather is iffy tomorrow for the Cup race.
Daniel Suarez and Ryan Blaney will lead the field to the green flag.
Caution on lap 29 of 200 for a spin and a wall tap by first-timer Angela Ruch.
The stages are 45-45-110.
Angela Ruch wads it up on lap 42 of 200.
Erik Jones, Daniel Suarez and Ryan Blaney end the stage up front.
Four of the drivers in the top ten at the end of the stage were Xfinity series drivers.
Justin ‘Dewy Alligator’ Allgaier hit a piece of debris from Angela Ruch’s car that put a hole in the nose of the car.
Caution on lap 62 of 200 for a tire issue for Spencer Gallagher.
Restarting on lap 66 of 200.
Daniel Suarez wins stage two followed by Erik ‘Da Brat’ Jones and ‘Sideways’ Sam Hornish Jr, Ryan ‘Son’ Blaney and Alex Bowman..
According to the PRN guys there’s a Brad Paisley concert going on currently on the dragstrip. I wonder how aggravating is the Xfinity race noise to the concert-goers.
Ryan Reed ran over one of his pit crew members. He got up under his own power and seems okay. He was favoring his foot a bit. I guess Ryan Reed needs a booster seat to see a large man at the front of his car.
Restarting on lap 96 of 200.
Caution on lap 102 of 200 for a tire on the infield grass that got away from Matt Tifft’s team.
Restarting on lap 107 of 200.
Just Allgaier is smoking on lap 112 of 200 and headed to the garage after getting the lucky dog and back on the lead lap during the last caution.
Caution on lap 120 of 200 for Erik ‘Da Brat’ Jones losing it and tapping the inside wall.
Restarting on lap 126 of 200.
Caution on lap 141 of 200 for debris. Something fell from above onto the racetrack. The PRN guys believe its the clock from the scoring stand. NASCAR is sending the cars down pit road while the safety trucks are picking up debris. They’re now saying it’s the black flag board that fell onto the track.
Restarting on lap 147 of 200.
Caution on lap 160 of 200 for possible fluid for turn one. The track has gotten a bit foggy.
Pit strategy in play as six cars stayed out for that pit stop.
Restarting on lap 166 of 200.
William Byon and Elliott Sadler are leading the field to the green.
Michael Annett spins with 34 laps to go bringing out the caution – actually no caution is out for the spin. He dropped back through the field on the restart and the 01 of Harrison Rhodes seemed to tap his left corner sending him around.
Alex Bowman wins his first win.
Unfortunately Brendan Gaughan is one point short of moving into the next round of the Xfinity Series playoffs. His teammate, Brandon Jones, raced him really hard throughout the race. At the end of the race, when he could’ve helped Uncle Brenny by passing Ryan Reed, he couldn’t get the job done. It’s a shame.
