Squinty Douchey wins a boring race. I was amused listening to the radio broadcast while watching the race. They were so excited on the radio. I said to Pooh I wished I was watching the race they were. The one I watched wasn’t nearly as exciting – busy, but not exciting. The news of the week is the announcement that Dale Earnhardt Jr will retire at the end of 2017.
I will miss Booboo tremendously as I found out at the end of last season when he was out with a concussion. That said, I am so pleased for him. I’m thrilled that he will get a chance to enjoy his life with his new wife Amy. I’m happy that she won’t, like me, watch him hit walls again and again and worry about brain injuries, among other injuries. I believe Jr wants to be a father – specifically a good father. I also believe he doesn’t want to be the father his was – the mostly absent father. His retirement gives him a better chance of being the dad he wants to be and the dad he wanted.
I believe his father would be bursting with pride over the man he is and all he’s accomplished. I believe Dale Earnhardt Jr is the man Dale Earnhardt wanted to be. Congrats to him on making a decision that should provide him with the opportunity to live his best life.
Well wishes go out to John Andretti on his medical situation. Wishing you and your family the best.
