The final fifteen laps of the race were enjoyable when the television cameras were showing the on-track action from the outside of the cars. At one point they had been showing ongoing battles between cars, then switched to a split-screen shot of a driver driving and the track surface outside the window, or something else useless, instead of the on-track action that was actually occurring. There seemed to be more battles than were shown. It seemed they focused on the battles involving the drivers who are most accommodating to their interview requests, rather than the best, or a variety of battles. I would prefer to see battles throughout the field, if there’s a lack of action at the front of the field. The Xfinity series race was okay, with an exciting final few laps. The Cup race, what I watched of it, was boring, with a decent final fifteen laps. The early part of the Truck race was so boring I stopped watching. I would like to see NASCAR let the Trucks and Xfinity series cars race elsewhere in the Miami area, or race after the Cup cars, instead of allowing the Cup teams to study the racing and the track all weekend before competing. There are a few tracks I feel that way about. The Cup race is generally more boring because of the things the drivers and teams learn watching the Trucks and Xfinity cars on track. I would like to see NASCAR go back to making the Cup tracks more exclusive to the series and allowing the Trucks and Xfinity cars to compete at different nearby tracks. I think eliminating the other series on the tracks, along with retaining the very limited practice will make for a more exciting Cup race since the teams won’t have as much data to rely on and will have to figure out more during the race itself.
