White flag
Aric Almirola (20) wins after leading 150 of 250 laps.
Chander Smith took a swing at Cole Custer after they had words while Aric Almirola was doing his burnout. During his radio interview Smith said he was upset because he was in a must-win situation and Custer was not at that time, though he was running for the owner’s championship. Smith said he knows Custer’s father is a high up at SHG and he guesses he values that, but ‘I’m a driver too’. Smith admits he sent Custer up the track earlier, but Smith felt Custer didn’t even try to make the corner.
During his television interview Cole said, “He put us in the wall several times this year and his mistakes caught up with him. What goes around comes around in this deal. He used the bumper on me, I used the bumper on him, I don’t see how we’re not even after this. It kinda is what it is.” Custer said, “Chandler took the win away from us in Kansas.” He also said, “Then he punched me in the face. I don’t know if he really punched me it was so soft.”
During Chandler’s tv interview they managed to blank out the audio of his calling something ‘Bullshit’. I guess they got some heat for the language during last night’s altercation in the truck race and tried to do better today. Chandler said Custer may think they’re even, but he’s got more to lose in this thing than I do.

The race was not as boring as the Truck race, but was not a great race. There was some battling, but the cars seemed very unevenly matched and therefore it wasn’t much of a race for the win. The race definitely had more action, but the television coverage seemed to miss much of it.
