‘WilliB’ (24) says the toe-link broke. He’s on pit road. Christopher ‘CBell’ Bell (20) got into Joey Logano (22) sending Logano into WilliB (24).
Spin in turn one on lap 31 of 500 on the restart by Tyler Reddick (45) who stayed out during that pit cycle. Several cars got damage in the incident.

We were stuck watching the wall go by during the on-track action. The television broadcast makes this race look very boring. I don’t know if it looks any better from the grandstands, but on television we’re spending a lot of time with stupid camera shots that show everything but the on-track racing action. That leads me to believe there isn’t any. Yesterday during the truck race I would catch occasional moments of interesting race action at the edge of a camera shot, or just before the camera switched to something less interesting.
Resin was put in the lower groove instead of PJ1 because it was believed the PJ1 would be too slick to race on and Bristol is now a wet-weather race track.
Somebody’s radio said the tires they were allotted were last year’s tires with the old date code. That team – not sure who – put those tires on now and will be on the better tires for the rest of the race.
Green flag pit stops are underway on lap 436 of 500 due to tire issues on multiple cars.
Mike Joy excitedly called out Josh Berry getting into the wall while the television broadcast was showing pit crew members rolling tires back into their pit area.
Christopher Bell (20) has a right rear flat and is trying to get onto pit road while we were shown the track surface from the rear bumper camera on his car. So we saw nothing much.
Multiple cars have flat tires and are managing to get onto pit road under green.
The cars are leaving with the rubber around the brakes on fire.
On lap 480 of 500 we were ‘treated’ to a blimp shot of the relatively empty grandstands all around the track.
On lap 492 Josh Berry (4) and Todd Gilliland (38) are out of fuel.
Justin Haley (51) is out of fuel on lap 497 of 500.
‘Desperate’ Denny Hamlin (11) finishes first.
Five cars on the lead lap at the end according to FOXSports’ Mike Joy.
They – FOXSports – keep mentioning the 54 lead changes, most of which occurred relatively early in the event and were therefore meaningless.
Hamlin stands on the car and the crowd mostly boos.
It was a tire management race which made it as boring as a fuel management race. Cars going around in circles relatively slowly.
Boring event with a boring finish.
