On lap 6 of 62 NASCAR has announced weather in the area and thrown a caution. The race will be under a 30 minute hold.
Doug Rice of the radio crew reports sunset is at 8:47pm. The IndyCar Radio Network is broadcasting the event. Mark James says vision will become an issue about 40 minutes prior to sunset.
The cars finally make it to pit road on lap 7 of 62 at 1804 eastern.
Red flag is out at 1805 eastern.
At 1809 eastern weather is light rain. The rain and wind have increased. Most of the drivers have run for shelter. The cars are covered. The rain and thunderstorm are predicted to end in seven minutes.
The lightning hold will end at 1839 eastern if there isn’t any more lightning.
Doug Rice on IndyCar Radio Network reports NASCAR has given the all-clear for weather at 1824 eastern.
Caution is out at 1849 eastern and the cars are rolling down pit road.

The television coverage is completely useless. We’re listening to the race coverage on the IndyCar Radio Network, though Doug Rice is apparently getting paid by the word judging by how much he’s babbling.
AJ Allmendinger wins stage two 3.121 seconds ahead of second position.
