We’re stuck seeing waaaaayyyyy too much of Samantha Busch again.
KyBu wins three in a row.
Kyle went into the stands and high-fived some young fans. Nice.
I watched more of the race than I documented. The rest of the race wasn’t interesting enough to be worth the effort. Night races are like ‘weather races’. Generally boring as it seems the drivers simply attempt to log enough laps to call it a day. With night races usually the majority of the race consists of logging laps until the end when the drivers seem to begin racing. It is boring to watch and feels like a cheat. I understand that NASCAR has a schedule it would like to keep. I feel as though NASCAR doesn’t understand that it has fans it would like to keep. It isn’t doing a good job of that these days. They seem to be concerned with marketing their product, but without fans NASCAR’s product is worthless to advertisers. NASCAR needs to worry less about ‘cutting costs’ and more about enhancing racing which would enhance the fans’ experience. They’re overly concerned with gimmicks like wifi, and letting the marketing folks run roughshod over the sport, while doing things that reduce the excitement, attraction, competition, and entertainment value of the sport of NASCAR. If I make a gorgeous, available pie, that has no flavor, I’m missing the point of the pie. These days it feels as though NASCAR is missing the point of running a spectator sport.
