2017 NASCAR Xfinity Cup Series Race Seven Bristol

Rain delay just before the end of stage two lasted one hour and thirty eight minutes.

Congrats to Daniel Hemric on winning the second stage.

There are reports that possibly Ross Chastain slugged Jeremy Clements when Jeremy grabbed his should while attempting to express his displeasure with Chastain. Jeremy did visit the infield care center and left from a door that did not have reporters around it wearing sunglasses. Looks like Jeremy’s mouth wrote a check his butt couldn’t cash, as they say.

I ignored the first stage of the race. I’ve found myself doing that frequently – ignoring the race until late in stage two. The races have felt boring and the contrivance of the stages doesn’t quite work for me. Various talking heads on tv and radio seem excited – though they often mention that the stages provide great storylines and I’m not looking for storylines, I’m looking for racing.

Not much of a lag before they’re lined up and going again under green on lap 178. Ryan Blaney takes the lead. Kyle Larson led the race until the red flag. Boring. I get to watch a boring Cup race tomorrow. A second helping of boring Cup racing in the Xfinity series is uncalled for.

Daniel Suarez just passed Ryan Blaney for the lead with 112 laps to go. Now Kutey Kyle Larson is battling Ryan Blaney for second.

Cup qualifying was rained out yesterday so Larson will lead the field to green and Chase Elliot has the outside pole position.

Caution on lap of 300 for 07 Ray Black Jr into the wall and the 99 of David Starr rolled across the front of the 07.

Caution with 55 to go due to a spin by Brendan Gaughan. The caution is going on and on.

Uncle Brenny said he couldn’t go any higher and that Bubba washed up into him. Brendan says he likes ‘Old Bubbles’ and it was just a racing gig.

Restarting with 41 laps to go.

Caution with 39 to go. Red flag is out now.

Bubba got hit hard by Garrett Smithley. Cole Custer was involved and NASCAR told him to take his car to the garage.

There are reports of rain in the area again, so they’re hoping to get this race back underway.

Kyle Larson may have turned Cole Custer to get that mess started.

Red flag has been pulled and they’re rolling under caution.

Jeff Meandering, the crew chief for Cole Custer, says he doens’t think they can get that fixed in five minutes. They’re on the clock. They’re pushing it behind the wall.

There will be 34 laps to go when they restart.

The 33 is coming to pit lane on lap 31 without a front left tire. Caution is out with 30 to go as the 4 of Ross Chastain gets into the wall.

Kyle Larson was coming to pit road for a right rear tire issue. He got back out in time to stay on the track. So the caution was a boon for him.

The tire isl low on the 42. there’s some damage in front of the tire. He might have had a tire rub. Bubba said he feels so bad for wrecking Brendan he didn’t want to do that. He said he really wanted sixth place today, but he didn’t get it. He said they have three more races to seal the deal for the rest of the season.

Cole Custer in the 00 keeps saying it just sucks. He’s so frustrated. He thought the 33 was more at fault in his incident until he saw the replay.

Kutey Kyle did pass the commitment cone so he will have to go to the back of the lead lap due to that. He got the tires changed.

Restarting with 23 to go as Ryan Blaney leads them to the green flag.

‘da brat’ Erik Jones knocked Ryan Blaney out of the groove by hitting his rear left corner. Ryan had to fight hard to keep that car from spinning out. He falls back to fifth.

Daniel Suarez has chased ‘da brat’ down.

Caution is out with 9 to go as William Byron taps the back of Dewy Alligator sending him sideways and caused him to tap Austin Dillon and the 48 of Brennan Poole who hit William Byron spinning him around. NASCAR asks the 52 car to stop and not move until the car gets around him.

Restarting with 3 to go.

da brat wins

Daniel Hemric gets the $100,000 Dash for Cash check.

Ryan Blaney finishes second.
