2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Four Michigan

Congrats to Brett Moffitt on his first truck series race win. Red Horse Racing gets a one two finish at Michigan as Timothy Peters can’t catch his teammate after a final lap pass.

Congrats to Michael McDowell on his first Xfinity series win. He outruns Brendan Gaughan in the final laps to win at Road America. Congrats to Alex Tagliani on capturing the pole at Road America.

Dark clouds on the horizon in Brooklyn, Michigan, looks like weather is in the near future.

Congrats to Graham Rahal on a great battle to the finish to win the Texas race in the Indy car series.

Competition caution is scheduled for lap 20 of 200.

Gosh is Kim Coon screechy on air. Doesn’t anyone get taught to pitch their voice away from screechy anymore? So many grating voices these days – either they sound like children, or like hysterical children.

Dale Jr was evaluated by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center team this week and will remain out of the car through next week’s race at Darlington. His concussion symptoms continue.

Chris Buescher is on pit road as the field restarts. He’s having some sort of engine issue. They hoped to make it to the competition caution to change the spark plugs to resolve the issue. He came in once with the rest of the lead lap cars, then again.

Caution on lap 27 of 200 for a spin by KyBu.

Chris Buescher heads out of join the field as Kyle Busch heads toward his pit stall after that spin.

Alex Bowman in the 88 has fallen back through the field due to some issue with the car.

Green flag pit stops around laps 62-70 of 200.

So it looks like tv is bored with the race since they’re showing the ‘backseat/trunk area’ of Michael McDowell’s car and follow that up with the ‘passenger side’ of his car. Dude, can you telegraph that nothing interesting is happening on the track any harder?

Green flag stops underway on lap 107 of 200.

Caution on lap 118 of 200 for debris.

Clint “Drunk Daddy” Bowyer is out of the race on lap 124 of 200. They’re trying to figure out why.

They’re showing the radar on lap 139 of 200. Lots of rain south of the racetrack.

Green flag stops on lap 157 of 200.

Caution on lap 186 of 200 for a blown tire by Michael Annett erasing Chase Elliott’s lead over Kyle Larson. The race has had several leaders over the course of the day including Joey “Squinty-Douchey” Logano, Kevin “KHarv” Harvick, Martin “Hottie” Truex Jr, and Jimmy Johnson.

Jeff Gordon is on the 24 pit box.

Mr. Hendrick and Ray Evernham are standing near the 48 pit box.

Looks like there will be nine laps to go when we restart. Chase and “Kutey” Kyle Larson didn’t come in for pit stops, while the guys are couple rows back did.

Brad ‘It’ Keselowski pushed Kutey Kyle on the restart ahead of Chase. KHarv in the 4 pushed Ryan Blaney in the 21 forcing him kinda sideways into the back of Chase on the restart.

Kutey Kyle wins. Chase Elliott finishes second for the second time at Michigan in 2016.

Congratulations to Ryan Blaney on his fourth place finish.

‘It’ was lurking in the camera shot as they’re talking to Kutey Kyle then finally busted in to shake his hand. Not quite sure why he (‘It’) was so thrilled to push Kyle to the lead. Kyle said ‘It’ could’ve passed him, but he didn’t, he stayed with him and pushed him to the lead. On the radio he said ‘It’ could’ve easily pulled down and they could’ve race into one and he doesn’t know what would’ve happened then. Gosh that sounds like manipulating the outcome of the race.

Each race this weekend had a first time winner.

KHarv was one of the cars to take new tires and the guys who stayed out spun the tires. Kutey Kyle and Chase both said they spun the tires. Chase is gutted.

Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson on his sixth place finish.
