After a lovely visit to the 10th Decatur Book Festival and totally yum pizza at Fellini’s I return home to the Cup race from Darlington. They were under caution when I walked into the room. I don’t know why. They were busy talking about all sorts of things, none of which seemed to be related to the caution. Oh well, maybe one day they will become a top notch broadcast team. I’m hoping Steve Letarte’s repetitive diarrhea of the mouth, Jeff Burton’s argumentativeness, and Rick Allen’s off-pace-calling are just growing pains that will resolve themselves. Then again I’m feeling pretty generous right now. A fun afternoon will do that for me.
Ken Squier, and Ned Jarrett are in the booth!!!! I so miss Buddy Baker. I imagine he was supposed to round out the trio and I would’ve loved seeing that. Unfortunately Dale Jarrett is there. Listening to the smooth call of Squire and Ned really underlines how much Dale babbles and how caustic, loud and whiny his voice and how bad he is at this job compared to two professionals.
Finally I found out what caused the first caution! Thank you Ken Squire!!! Dale, Rick, Steve, and Jeff definitely needs to shut up and learn!!!
Caution is out on lap 61 for debris.
Squire and Ned Jarrett know how to call the race, sell the race, entertain and inform seamlessly. Such a pleasure.

Lap 188 of 367 Danica has a lot of smoke coming out of her car and she has a lot of damage on the right site. The caution finally comes out on lap 189 of 367 while Danica is in the pits. She said she just got loose. This is her backup car.
Caution on lap 198 of 367 for Ricky Stinkhouse spinning and hitting the inside wall head on. Moments after Stenhouse hit the wall, the 98 and 7 (TJ Bell and Alex Bowman) got into each other and did some pretty good damage.

It’s interesting to see the Mean Joe Green Coca-Cola commercial. Of course, I’ve not seen it in years. It brings back a couple of memories, though it makes me want to see the “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing” Coca-Cola commercial.
Caution on lap 265 of 367 of David Ragan in the inside wall. Danica’s car is showering sparks.
Caution is out on lap 279 of 367 for David Ragan hitting the outside and inside wall as Menard ran into the back of him. David’s 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine goes up in flames. He’s out of the car.
