NASCAR 2012 Week 36 Homestead Chase Race 10

Race day is mostly sunny in Homestead. Joey Logano has the pole. He wrecked in practice yesterday and had to go to a backup car, so he will start at the back instead. That allows Brad Keselowski who qualified third to start on the front row. Jimmie qualified tenth, but he seems pleased with the car. If Brad finishes 15th or better next week he wins the championship no matter what Jimmie does. If he leads a lap he has to finish sixteenth or better. If he leads the most laps he has to finish seventeenth or better. Jimmie has his work cut out for him, but, as he says he has nothing to lose. The Awards ceremony will air November 30th according to the commercial.

Kid Rock did a pre-race concert and got a song performance aired. Bob campaigned for Mitt Romney. While it doesn’t really surprise me, it did disappoint me.

Caution Lap 77 for Debris in the back straightaway.

On lap 93 the glare from the sun is getting brutal.

Caution lap 142 for debris.

Ricky Stenhouse brings out the caution on lap 154 as he hits the wall.

Lap 213 Jimmie comes in for a green flag pit stop and has to come back in for a penalty as he’s missing a lug nut.

Around lap 228 Jimmie Johnson heads to the garage with a broken car. The Championship Chase is over for 2012.

Jeff Gordon wins the race. Brad Keselowski wins the Sprint Cup Championship.
