A quick visit to the doctor this morning resulted in a couple of prescriptions. By the time the visit was over (after the blood draw) the hives were starting again and had to be endured through a trip to the pharmacy. I was rather surprised to see blowing snow when I came into the parking garage.  The forecast was for some mixed precipitation during the afternoon; instead it was all wet blowing snow(instead of the rain I’d driven in to the doctor’s office). So I came home to see how the medicines would work and so far my verdict is that they’re not working. The hives have continued to spread all afternoon and the itching is intense. Its so bad I just took a Benadryl on top of everything else and if things don’t get better soon, I’m taking another one. The doctor (Sam Adams – no seriously, the man’s name is Sam Adams – Samuel Franklin Adams to be exact) said I should be better by the end of the week – so we’ll see. Lots of NASCAR fans are gunning for Steve Letarte’s head after Big Daddy led 219 laps of a 267 lap race and didn’t win it. The announcers keep saying, Steve Letarte did the right thing at the moment and if it had worked everybody would be saying what a genius he is. The other thing they’re saying is that the competition is much closer to the 48 team than they have ever been. And they’re all saying it sounds crazy with Jimmie winning 2 of the first 3 races but the competition is closing in…and so far only other journalists want to take them up on that conversation. The audience is much more interested in talking about what Smiley Face did wrong on Sunday.
