Raceday dawns rainy and cold in Martinsville, Virginia.  Jimmie joins the 50 wins club with a lovely Race Day interview with Jimmie, Junior Johnson and Ned Jarrett – the other two members of the 50 wins club. Jimmie says he wants to get more life experience and more experience in the sport before he starts running his mouth and being a voice in the sport. Humble to the end, he is.  It’s been drizzling off and on throughout the pre-race shows.  The weather bimbo has shown us a huge band of rain to the west of the speedway. He says it will rain a long time once it starts, so the chances of getting in 250 laps greatly decreases as the delays in starting the race continues.  We’re now about 45 minutes past the anticipated start of the race and jet dryers were still rolling around the last time they showed the track.  The forecast for tomorrow is about the same, though the bulk of the rain should happen in the morning.  Tuesday will be dry according to weather bimbo Rick Dickert.  We’ve just watched a video of some of the top finishes in NASCAR.  They’ve finally called the race for today.  It is rescheduled for tomorrow at noon.  The forecast is calling for rain tomorrow also, so who knows if they’ll get in.
This cold and flu season has kicked my butt. I’ve been sick all week – AGAIN!!!  I got seriously sick in late October, then again in late December, and now, here it is again at the end of March.  And that’s not counting the few incidences of hives and intestinal flu which has also plagued me throughout the season.  This was another full-blown round of aches, sore throat, chest congestion, head congestion, coughing, nausea and fever.  Just as nasty as it was in October and not much better than it was in December.  This is starting to – no, not starting to, this sux.  We’re finally having a day or two here and there of sunshine and occasional warm temperatures and I’m stuck inside trying to recover. Then again, as the NASCAR boys say, “It is what it is.”
In NASCAR news Denny is finally going to get his ACL surgery. Â He figured out he was injuring it further and needed to get it taken care of. I figured he’d make it a little longer, but not much. Â I wonder who won the pool on it. Â He seems to usually be the person who bets on everything, but I’m betting there was a line on how long it would take him to get the surgery.
The “Healthcare Reform Bill” has been signed. Â I wonder how long it will take before real healthcare reform is considered now that this piece of crap has been passed. Â It is hard to remain optimistic when the U.S. uses every opportunity to do good to instead further the profit making abilities of major corporations. Â That’s a weird sentence, but “it is what it is”.
One weird NASCAR thing, Kyle Busch said Amanda Speed beat him in a push-up contest last night. Â Weird.

Good to know that someone else shares my thought about the healthcare bill which is that it is crap and people are in arms right now for nothing just being played as pawns.
